Purchase a Holiday Bundle photo package (3 - 5"x7" photos, 2 - 3.5"x5" photos, 8 wallets - a savings of over $ 21) and get a free DVD of the cartoon Classic "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," a $ 15 value.
Santa said that children are the favorite person to shop for, and this holiday will provide many children with a blast from the past. According to Newgate Mall, over half of parents (53%) expect their children to ask for toys this holiday. Toy Wishes Magazine predicts one of the most popular items making a big comeback from the 80's is Cabbage Patch Kids - the adoptable doll that comes with official papers and a name. Another famous 80's game, Pac-Man isn't back, but his girlfriend is. Ms. Pac-Man TV is hot this year - for children ages 5 and up it costs around $ 20 and plugs into the TV to provide a home-arcade. Retro-favorite characters will be huge this holiday. Kids are asking for Care Bears, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Strawberry Shortcake.
This holiday, men (42%) want nothing more than Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz in their stockings - well, their movies anyway. Women want Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein under their trees.
The three things women want most this holiday are clothes (45%), gift cards (44%) and jewelry (44%). Clothes always top women's wish lists and this winter it's all about the poncho for females young and old. Alternative warm options for ponchos include tweed jackets in bright pink colors and for dressier occasions a trendy fur or faux-fur wrap. Jewelry is big this winter and fashionistas say brooches make great accessories for any outfit. Final touches such as juice box purses and long linear earrings make any look complete; but for men not sure about her color, size or style, Newgate Mall gift cards make the perfect gift.
"Our research indicates consumers feel their spouses are the most challenging person to shop for - thankfully our mall gift cards provide the perfect alternative to traditional presents," said Karla Woodward, Marketing Manager. "In the last year alone there has been a 10 percent increase in the number of consumers asking for gift cards."
The ladies aren't the only ones wishing for clothes this holiday. Gentlemen have the same wish on their lists! The top three things men want most this holiday are DVDs (42%), clothing (38%), and electronics (35%). Stuff his stockings with DVDs and put his new clothes under the tree. Shopping for this winter's style for him can be summed up in one word, CLASSIC. According to fashion experts, fitted shirts, bomber jackets, and two-button suits are his hot must-haves and if jeans are his preferences. Sears at Newgate Mall has the latest and the greatest in jeans.
Electronics are number three on his wish list and electronic gurus expect the holiday's hottest gizmos to be: mini Apple iPods, DVD Handycam Camcorders, and back again from last year - plasma digital flat screen TVs. Men wanting a clean house without having to clean it themselves are hoping to find a Roomba automatic floor vacuum under the tree. It cleans all household floor surfaces without human direction - even the Jetson's will be jealous of this one!
80s fashion is hot too. Lacoste (known for its tiny alligator logo) and IZOD return to the preppy polo shirt. Esprit clothing is making a comeback to retailer shelves and military inspired pants remain hot for teens everywhere. Puffy wear and down coats will be also be in high demand as the holiday winter nears.
